Mushrooms: Real Food of Fantasy, Fairy Tales and Science
Mushrooms are real food and may be the stuff of fantasy and fairy tales, but they also have a wide range of industrial and medical uses.
Mushrooms are way cool daddio! They say there is a certain mushroom that people eat which causes psychedelic dreams. Do you ever wonder if a person had eaten one of those mushrooms and that's how mushrooms, a real food, ended up in fantasy stories and fairy tales? Yes? No? Oh please don't tell me I'm the only one who ever wondered that. LOL.
At any rate, I love that someone had enough imagination to use mushrooms as tiny homes for whimsical creatures. I love that there are a variety of delicious mushrooms and are the main ingredient in various recipes. But to learn that scientists are exploring the possibilities that mushrooms can be used as medicine to cure diseases, for bio-fuel, in building construction, and more, I also have great respect for this humble fungus.
